Baring last minute change of decision, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has applied for a $50 million Dollar loan from a China’s Exim Bank.
Governor Uzodinma was said to have notified the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emeka Nduka via a letter dated April 25, 2023 of his intention to borrow the huge sum ahead of the November 11, Governorship election in the state.
Regrettably, Uzodinma had claimed that his government has not borrowed any money since January 15, 2020 it came on board.
Few hours after the Governor’s claim, an online Newspaper, Sahara Reporters disclosed that Governor Uzodinma, had in June 2021 secured 100 billion Naira load from a new generation bank.
This is at the heels of uncontrollable apathy occasioned by insecurity which has ravaged the entire state and claimed innocent Imo youths said to have been perpetuated by the Governor’s militia group, Ebubeagu.
