There is indication that the Attorney General of Imo State, COC Akolisa has allegedly boasted of in touch with the Appeal Court and some top Judicial Officers in the state to obtain an order on Tuesday to vacate the garnishee order obtained by former Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Eze Madumere.
Akolisa was said to have further boasted that no individual in the state could parade any order against the 3Rs administration without the state government working seriously to frustrate such order since the government is in good terms with the Appeal Court Judges.
While addressing a select Imolites, Akolisa maintained that even when it becomes glaring that the state government is owing Madumere N1.9 billion as contained in the order, there was no way the state could pay him hence, an order from a higher court to vacate the garnishee order.
Adding his voice, Barr Chukwueke (surname withheld) said that no responsible Appeal court Judge could ever grant a vacation order to a government that arrested some of its staff and tortured them for exercising their constitutional duties.
He warned the state government against using illegal force against the enforcers of an order from a competent court of jurisdiction, noting that the same way the Oder of Supreme Court that installed the present government was obeyed should be the same way the garnishee order must be obeyed, adding that anything short of that amounts to contempt of court.
